James W Sauby, 75, passed away at St Vincent Healthcare in Billings on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017.  Jim was born in Shelby, MT on June 25th, 1942 the son of Warren and Dolores (Thennis) Sauby.  He spent much of his life working the family farm in Oilmont, MT learning the trades of farming, mechanics, oil production and numerous ways of tormenting his siblings before leaving to join the US Air National Guard, and dedicating 12 years to its’ service.  Jim was always happy when he was around his friends and family; whether it was fly fishing, camping in Glacier Park, bow hunting, playing on old John Deere tractors or just visiting with the hundreds of people he came to know from his years as a traveling sales representative.  Jim was always the one to tell the first joke, to share a story or offer words of wisdom.  He surrounded himself with good people and made sure he was always helpful and available to them whenever they needed him.  Jim was a youthful spirit right until he left us, his charisma, his humor and his honest character are the legacies he leaves with each of us.  Anyone who knew Jim, has many a good story and many fond memories to share.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Lewistown; son Chris (Mary-Ann) and grandsons Evan and Ryan, and Son Josh; sisters Anita, JoAnn and Lucille; several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded by his parents Warren and Delores and his brother Wilfred (Willie).
