Shirley M. Unger 97 of Lewistown died early Saturday morning, January 9th, 2021 in Valle Vista Manor of natural causes. She was born September 14, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Samuel and Viola (Ronstrom) Unger. She received her education in Brooklyn at Bishop McDonald Memorial Catholic High School graduating in 1941. She worked for Sperry Gyroscope in Brooklyn, NY. She started her career with the Actor’s Equity as a clerk later promoted to department manager, a job she held for 35 years retiring in 1983. She lived in Manhattan for 17 years, moved to South Carolina for 5 years until moving to Lewistown in 1990.
Shirley enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, reading and working on her computer.
She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Memorial Graveside Services for Shirley M. Unger will be Saturday, January 23rd, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Mount Calvary Cemetery, cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
