Nadine Bateman, 98, of Lewistown, died Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at Valle Vista. Nadine was born August 8, 1922 to George Henry and Geneva (Shaw) Lippert. Nadine showed her excitement for a long life early, as she came into the world while George was gone to get the midwife.  She grew up on the family farm in the Sample Flats Community north of Carter, Montana.  Many stories originated from the true homesteading life on the farm.  When Nadine was in her teens she was hospitalized. Over the years, she proudly recounted her dedication to work at the hospital to pay off her own debt after her recovery. Nadine had various jobs including working at the Fort Benton pharmacy and teaching for 2 years at the country school in the mountains during the war. Nadine graduated from Fort Benton High School in 1940 and married Jack Bateman on June 23, 1941. They moved to the Highwood Mountains to ranch and raise their two daughters, Frances and Linda. Nadine and her husband Jack bowled and she voluntarily kept score for others multiple times a week for many, many years. Very rarely did Nadine miss church on Sundays, even if it meant Jack had to bust through snow drifts to get her there.  She provided a warm and welcoming house to many friends and family.  The cookie jar was always full when you arrived. Nadine loved her family deeply and prayed for everyone.

Nadine is survived by daughter Frances Hunter of Lewistown; granddaughters Lori (Ron) Degenhart of Bozeman, Jamie (Nathan) Putnam of Bozeman, Shelley McCord of Lewistown; grandsons Shawn Hunter of Lewistown and Lane (Dakota) Meeks of Bozeman; great-grandchildren Taylor and Hope Degenhart, Payton and Jackson Putnam, Brooklyn (Bernadette) Rodgers, Bailey (Jesse) Ritchey, Madison Rodgers, and Caden McCord, Ryen and Hailen Meeks; and many nieces and nephews.
