Alan S. Pollari

August 1, 1963 — June 17, 2019

Alan Scott Pollari, 55, of Geyser succumbed to the rigors of life on Tuesday, June 18th, 2019. He was born August 1st, 1963 in Great Falls, MT the son of Elmer and Gloria (Whitfield) Pollari. He received his schooling in Geyser Schools, went on to Northern Montana College in Havre for two years, and continued to Montana State University in Bozeman where he received his Bachelor of Science. He returned to the family ranch, near Geyser, later named Sourdough Gelbvieh Ranch. On May 28th, 1994 he was united in marriage to Melissa Olson, of Malta, in Great Falls, MT. They made their home on the ranch for 16 years with their two boys, Caleb and Jacob. Alan and Melissa later divorced.


Alan was always supportive of local sports, especially when his sons played basketball and football. He furthered his involvement by coaching Jr. High Football, Girls Volleyball, and high school basketball for several years. He served as Athletic Director and was part of the Geyser School Board. He encouraged the speech and drama team, too. In short, Alan was a true Geyserite.

In addition, Alan was an avid Seattle Seahawks and Montana State Bobcat fan and enjoyed watching sports on TV. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and reading. His lifelong passion was ranching, proudly raising Gelbvieh bulls.


Alan is survived by his sons Caleb and Jacob, both of Geyser, nephew Trent Tonne of Great Falls, and niece Julia Tonne, of Stanford.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Gloria Pollari, sister Alice Pollari Tonne, and an infant child.


A Celebration of Life for Alan Pollari will be held Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Geyser High School Gym with a reception to follow in the Geyser Community Hall. Cremation has taken place with
Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.


Friends are asked to make memorials in the name of Alan Pollari to his children and  they may be left at any Stockman Bank, to the Geyser High School Athletic Fund or the charity of their choice and they may be left with the Cloyd Funeral Home.
