Arlie "Butch" Edward Christensen, Jr, was born November 28, 1947 to Arlie and Norma (Fillacy) Christensen in Manistee, MI. When Arlie was 5, he and his parents travelled to Winifred, MT to take over the Henry Christensen ranch. Arlie attended school in Winifred and graduated in 1966; following graduation he continued ranching with his parents. On June 15, 1974, Arlie married Lynn Karnopp in Winifred. To their marriage, they added 3 children, daughters Tyana and Tara, and son Tyler.
Arlie loved the ranching life; he enjoyed riding in his tractors listening to country music. He was always ready and willing to help a neighbor with work, even after he retired in 2010 at the age of 62.
In retirement, Arlie enjoyed days along the Missouri river, attending local auctions and garage sales as he had a love for history and collecting guns, and taking a few motorcycle trips with his son, Tyler. Arlie was a member of the American Lutheran Church and the NRA.
Arlie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lynn; daughters Tyana Bennett and Tara (John) Shipp; son Tyler (Melody) Christensen; 2 step-grandsons, Trent, Tyler; 3 grandsons Brock, Ashton, Rylan; 2 step great-grandsons, Owen and Atlas; and his mother, Norma Christensen.
Arlie is preceded in death by his father, Arlie; and step-grandson Lucas.
