Clara (Hartman) Donisthorpe 89 of Lewistown passed away Tuesday evening, September 14th, 2021 at the Villa of natural causes. She was born April 1, 1932 in Roy Montana the daughter of John and Olga (Pospisil) Hartman. She received her schooling in the Plum Creek and Lewistown schools. On April 23, 1950 she was united in marriage to Jack Donisthorpe in Great Falls. They made their home on a ranch at Christina Montana. She helped Jack with the ranching and they raised their family. She was active as the School Clerk for the Christina School for many years and also served as an Election Judge for Fergus County. Clara was an avid gardener, growing flowers, she was best known and will be remembered for her baking, her German Chocolate Cake, cookies and fresh bread is what her family and friends will remember. They retired from the ranch and moved into Lewistown in 2000. Jack preceded her in death in 2012 and she entered the Villa in 2020.
Her first love was Jack and then her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending as much time as she could attending any and all of their activities.
She was a member of the Christina Women’s Club and Community Club and the Winifred Garden Club for many years.
She is survived by her three children: Art (Lisa Medved) of Colstrip, MT, Kay (Jim) Love of Missoula, MT and Scott (Vickie) of Great Falls, MT; six grandchildren Steven (Sabie) Donisthorpe, Kristen (Heath) Herbold, Jacqueline (Andrew) Flikkema, Nicole (Kody) Swartz, Logan (Kelley) Donisthorpe and Nolan Donisthorpe; nine great grandchildren Jack, Selena, Brinkley, Gage, Camden, Hadley, Claire, Thomas and Delaney; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Ernest, Charles, Willy and Joseph and two sisters Libbie Ille Newberg and Fran Ille.
At her request cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 1pm at Lewistown City Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Friends are asked to make memorials Hospice of Central Montana, the First Presbyterian Church Community Christmas Dinner or to the charity of their choice and they may be left with the Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
