Clayton Arthur Barkhoff, 90, of Broadview formerly of Lewistown passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings. He was born April 2, 1934 in Moccasin, Montana to his parents Clayton and Elsie (Johnson) Barkhoff.
Clayton was born and raised in Moccasin, graduating from Moccasin High School. He married Lorraine Abel on June 30, 1953. To this union seven children were born- Wayne, Cheryl, Loren, Yvonne, Roselyn, Dean, and Paul. Clayton worked many years as a mechanic, eventually opening his own repair shop. In later years he also operated a big game outfitting business. Then he retired to raise his own cows until his health failed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Walt Barkhoff, sister Marian Stevenson, sons Wayne, Loren, and Dean.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years Lorraine, daughters Cheryl Walsh, Yvonne Ulmer, and Roselyn (Omer) Rychner, son Paul (Sandra) Barkhoff, daughter-in-law Kim Barkhoff, 15 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Baptist Church 195 Mile Drive Lewistown. Pastor Frank Burns will be officiating. Please join the family after the service for a luncheon following.
