Dennis Miller, 83 of Lewistown, died from cancer on April 12. He was born in Lewistown on November 3, 1941, to Ted and Alice (Burch) Miller. He lived in Central MT most of his life. He married Sandra Stevens after high school, and they had three children before divorcing. Denny’s second marriage was to Nola Jean McCullough; they also divorced.
He worked in the family livestock business at the Miller Feedlot on Upper Spring Creek and at Miller Brothers Land and Livestock west of Eddie's Corner. After the ranch was sold, he bought and sold cattle and feeder pigs. He tried prospecting, but that turned out to be harder work than he liked. He was always interested in money-making schemes that did not require a lot of work, which made him vulnerable to scammers. He enjoyed living at the Eagles Manor for the last 15 years. Denny loved all things western, including reading western novels and watching old movies. He enjoyed the library, attending AA meetings, and occasionally attending the Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Alice, and brother Ron. His survivors include three children: son Dirk (Wanda) of Cheyenne, WY, daughter Colleen (Daren) of Grand Junction, CO, and son Jeffrey (Shanna) of Fruita, CO; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother Wayne of Darby; a niece, three nephews, and several cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Valle Vista Manor and CMMC Hospice for their care of Denny over the last few months. Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com
