Dick Windels

February 5, 1941 — May 9, 2020

Dick Windels 79 of Lewistown died Saturday morning, May 9th, 2020 in the Central Montana Health & Rehab of natural causes.  He was born February 5, 1941 in Southerland, NE the son of Frederick and Elsie (Holmstedt) Windels.  He lived and received his education in Paxton, NE graduating from Paxton High School in 1959 and then entered the United States Air Force.  He was united in marriage to Frances L. Battrick on May 11, 1963 in Lewistown.  He continued his military services retiring in 1979.  They then moved to Rapid City, SD and he worked at the Rapid City Hospital until 2001 when he retired and they moved to Lewistown.  He worked at the Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center in Lewistown for a few years and then fully retired.

Dick enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and fossils, he loved to read, finding rattle snakes and always enjoyed working.

He is survived by his wife Frances of Lewistown; two sons Reed of Lakewood, CO and Cory of Greeley, CO; one sister Donna (Norval) Eberspacher of Thermopolis, WY; two grandchildren, Casey and Cailyn and several nieces and nephews.

At his request cremation has taken place with the Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.
