Dolores Sally Pospisil Berg, 88, went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on September 6, 2024.
Dolores was born to Frank and Lillian (Martenic) Pospisil on March 3, 1936, at the family farm near Moore. She was delivered by their neighbor Mary Kolar.
Dolores met Donald Berg when her brother, Harry, invited him to play cards with their family. The two grew fond of each other and soon began dating and were later married on October 3, 1953.
They lived in Lewistown where Don worked as a mechanic at Bourke Motors. They were soon blessed with a daughter, Sally. They later moved to the Berg family ranch on Beaver Creek, where they raised cattle, sheep, chickens, pigs, and grain. She also grew a large garden. Their family was further blessed with children Pat, Donnie, Susie, Lori and Roger.
When their children began attending school in Moore, Dolores and Don began driving the School Bus and activity bus. Dolores was very dedicated to her family. She loved holidays and enjoyed making them special for her children. She also loved a picnic (a Pospisil family tradition) favoring the dam at the Berg Ranch or Crystal Lake. Dolores enjoyed painting pictures of the ranch. She loved walks on the ranch and was once joined on a walk by a bear traveling on a road running parallel to hers.
Dolores enjoyed trips with her friends, and her adult children and grandchildren. She loved all her grandchildren and any time spent with them, whether it was to console them in a time of need or join them in a little mischief.
Dolores later began a career at Buttrey’s/Albertson’s in Lewistown where she worked until her retirement. Don and Dolores eventually purchased a home in Lewistown, where they lived while continuing to operate the family farm. Dolores was a member of the Wool Growers, Farmers Union, and Beaver Creek Woman's Club. She had a strong faith in the Lord, and was a member St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Dolores moved into the Central Montana Nursing Home until its closure, she then moved to Valley Vista. Despite her health challenges she loved life. She made friends easily in the Nursing Home. She greatly enjoyed visits from family and friends, especially Carol Jennings even more when they went outside. She always looked forward to van rides in the country with her daughter, Sally, often with an extra passenger, granddaughter, daughter or great grandson. She loved her nearly daily visits with her granddaughter, Chrisie.
Dolores was blessed to have many wonderful people in her life and appreciated their company whether it was by person, by phone or by letter.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Don, baby daughter Virginia, son Donnie, son-in-law John McBurney, sisters Ruth Nelson (Gordon), Louise Anglin (Dick), brothers Frank Pospisil (Emily) and Harry Pospisil (Rosie), and brother-in-law Bob Inglis.
