Donna Belinda Edmonds Sprouse 66, of Lewistown, after being diagnosed with acute leukemia went home Sunday morning, September 17th, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born June 28, 1951 in Asheville, North Carolina the daughter of John and Margaret (Rice) Edmonds. She received her education in Weaverville graduating from North Buncombe High School. She then worked as a secretary for local businesses in Weaverville until her marriage to Bill Sprouse on December 1, 1972. They made their home in North Carolina until moving to Great Falls, Montana in 1977 where they operated a business selling Buck Stoves. They returned to North Carolina in 1981 to the Weaverville area and she began a career in healthcare as a certified nurse's assistant. They returned to Montana in 1992 settling in Lewistown where they started the Bread of Life Baptist Church.
Donna loved church, reading her bible, singing, playing the piano and teaching her Sunday school class. She enjoyed time with her family, cooking, crocheting and hunting and fishing with her husband. She was a wonderful caregiver and devoted her entire life to nurture, care and love others selflessly.
She is survived by her husband Rev. Bill Sprouse of Lewistown; daughter Michelle Sprouse Blackburn; mother Margaret Edmonds; brothers John Edmonds, Michael (Faith) Edmonds, Jeffrey (Sandy) Edmonds; sister Iris (Tim) Wilson; mother in law Dusky Sprouse; brothers in law Rev. Larry (Marilyn) Sprouse; Jack Sprouse; and sister in law Aleta Ratliff all in North Carolina; six grandchildren, Alexander, Brady & Izabella Blackburn, Katelyn, Caleb and Chloe Warren; many nieces and nephews and her church family.
Donna was preceded in death by one daughter Belinda Warren; her father John Edmonds; father in law Howard Sprouse; brother in law Ronnie Sprouse; and sister in law Judy Sprouse.
Funeral Services for Donna Sprouse will be Tuesday, September 26th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bread of Life Baptist Church in Lewistown. Graveside Services will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Refuge Cemetery in Alexander, NC. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
