Donna Mae Lund

August 25, 1940 — October 14, 2022

Donna Mae (Williams) Lund, daughter of Donald E Williams and Marie A. (Smart) Williams, was born on August 24, 1940, in Spokane, WA. Donna passed away on October 14, 2022. Donna grew up in Spokane, the oldest of five children. After she graduated from Billings Senior High in 1958, she attended Eastern College in Billings receiving a 2-year Teaching Degree in 1960. She taught at the Valentine School until 1962.

On June 24th, 1961, Donna married Monte Lund. They had two children, Tye and Terrena. She was now a city gal married to a rural rancher. Donna cared for Monte’s Grandmother (Agnes Bauman) and his Great Uncle (Harold Bauman), and two babies. She had her hands full, but she was determined to be a rancher. She was soon driving swather, stacking hay and becoming a real ranch hand. As the kids got older, she would substitute teach at the Roy School. Monte and Donna ranched in the Roy area until 1992. Then they moved to the ranch south of Winnett. Monte passed away in December 1992.

Donna had been widowed the past 28 years. She focused on following grandkids on most of their adventures. She planned an 8th grade graduation trip for each to have some one-on-one time. Donna loved her dog (Spike), who was also a great companion for her. Family meant a lot to Donna. There would be an adventure with her siblings each year. She filled her days with community events as well. She was a member of the First Baptist Church (Winnett), Anna Smalley #112 Order of the Eastern Star, (holding many positions), Flatwillow Homemakers (28yrs Secretary), Winnett Senior Citizens (president) and member of the Rimrock Readers Book Club (Winnett). Donna was the judge in Petroleum County for 13 years until her health would not allow her to continue. She lived on her terms and died on her terms. She was a strong woman.

If you ever had the nerve to ask why she did something, she would answer with her motto: “I’m the mom that’s why!” She is in a good place now! She is with her one true love, Dad.

Donna is survived by her sisters, Anita (Mike) Donivan, Betty (David)Raab, brothers, Roger Williams, Terry (Debby)Williams; Children, Tye (RayeAnne) Lund, Terrena Fogle. Grandkids, Kody (Kelly) Lund, MonteRay Fogle, Mariah Fogle; great-granddaughter Alexis Lund; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
