Duane D. Gervais

Duane Donald Gervais 57, received the gift of being released of his physical and mental bonds on his birthday, December 16^th, 2020 in Billings of complications due to severe Epilepsy.  Duane was born on December 16, 1963 in Lewistown the son of Donald and Eileen (Heck) Gervais.  He had many challenges in his life beginning at birth, he lived in Lewistown until 1980 when he moved to Helena, MT to take advantage of the opportunities available in the community for special needs people.  While in Helena he was involved in Special Olympics, Farm and the Dell, attending school and day programs.  Duane also had the honor of dining with Governor Marc Racicot.  Duane loved to be outdoors in the sunshine, watching people and going for a drive or listening to airplanes, sirens and heavy equipment.

In 2019 Duane moved to Billing, MT to be closer to family.  The family especially enjoyed the last 19 months having more opportunities to spend with Duane.

Duane is survived by his mother Eileen Newman of Lewistown, Father Don Gervais and sister Pam Gervais (David) Harmon of Billings, MT.

He was preceded in death by on sister Sherry Gervais, grandparents Art and Agnes Gervais, Clifford and Viola Heck, uncle Clifford Gervais and brother-in-law Troy Foss.

Graveside Services for Duane D. Gervais will be Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Central Montana Memorial Gardens of Lewistown with the Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Staff at St. Vincent Healthcare who cared for him in his final days, the staff at Kathy Group Home in Billings, Dr. French and his staff and West Mont in Helena
