Gerald 'Jerry' Jimmerson

Gerald E. "Jerry" Jimmerson, age 95, of Lewistown passed away at his home with his wife Vada at his side early Thursday morning April 26, 2018.

Jerry was born in Suffolk, Montana March 20, 1923 to George and Jessie (Turner) Jimmerson. Jerry attended Salt Creek School for 2 years and graduated from Fergus High School in Lewistown in 1940.

Jerry and Alice Lund were married in 1943. He worked for various ranches including PN Ranch. Jerry enlisted and served in the United States Coast Guard from November 20, 1943 to February 7, 1946. During his time in the Coast Guard Jerry started purchasing land for his future career. Following his discharge, he came back to Suffolk and lived in the house he was born. Jerry retired and sold the farm in 1984.

He then went to work for the State of Montana as a Hail Adjuster for 18 years retiring in 2002. Jerry and Vada Ferdinand were married in Lewistown May 26, 1990. They are members of the First Christian Church in Lewistown. Past time enjoyments for Jerry were woodworking, playing in the Kitchen Band, and playing piano with the "Old Duffers".

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George and Murray, two sisters, Jean Wickens and Fay Williams and infant grandson, Ryan Jimmerson.

Jerry is survived by his wife Vada of Lewistown, sons, Gary Jimmerson of Great Falls, William "Bill" Jimmerson of Bozeman and Jack Jimmerson of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughters, Geraldine Branstetter of Bozeman and Nancy Felke of Arlington, Washington; brothers, Roy Jimmerson of Kalispell and Dick Jimmerson of Sacramento California; sisters, Ruth Dalton and Iris Vergason, both of Lewistown. Jerry was also survived by sister-in-law Jean Jimmerson of Lewistown and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation hours will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at Cloyd Funeral Home. Viewing hours will also be one hour prior to service time at the church. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at First Christian Church 103 12^th Avenue South in Lewistown, MT. Burial with military honors will follow at Central Montana Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
