Harold L. (Pete) Andrus 83 of Moore died Monday afternoon in a Lewistown Nursing Home of natural causes. He was born April 29, 1933 in Roseburg, Oregon the son of Raymond and Elva (Irvin) Andrus. He received his schooling in Oregon and then served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he returned to Oregon and worked for U.S. Plywood in the Mill. In 1957, he was united in marriage to Jan Hoffman and they continued to live in Oregon. After their divorce in 1968 he moved to Eureka, CA and worked for about one year and then returned to Oregon and worked at Grants Pass on the Fire Department and Ambulance Service. On October 16, 1971, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Eakins in Roseburg. He returned to work at the mill until moving to Lewistown in 1975. He worked as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Lewistown until he quit do to medical issues. They moved to Moore in 1991 and he entered the nursing home in April of 2016.
Pete loved to hunt and fish with his friend Daryl Glidewell, enjoyed woodworking and time with family.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Moore, MT; sons Leonard Andrus, Paul Hart, Alan Williams, Calvin Williams all of Lewistown and David Hart of Billings, MT; daughters Robin Tweter of Port Angeles, WA and Sherry (Tim) Bishop of Moccasin, MT; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
No Services will be held at this time for Harold “Pete” Andrus, a Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. Cremation has taken place with the Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.
Friends are asked to make memorials to the Pet Assistance League (PAL), Fergus Post #16 American Legion or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
