Helen Pratt, 93, peacefully fell asleep in the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. When Helen was born on Wednesday, March 12, 1930 at the Moore, Montana hospital, she was placed into the loving arms of her parents, Charlie and Minnie Thomas. She joined two sisters, seven-year-old Florence Anna and almost three-year-old Ruth Marie. The girls liked to ride one of their horses to Trout Creek School about a mile from home when their dad let them. When it was time for Helen to take her 8th grade exam in the big town of Lewistown and attend the big school of Moore, she was nervous, but she embraced being a Bulldog, played basketball, and could chant the Bulldog Fight Song well into her 80s. Helen graduated in 1948 from Moore High School with three classmates.
Helen danced into the heart of Charles "Rad" Pratt at a country dance when she was only 16.
On September 3, 1948, Rad left a note in his parents' typewriter and they eloped to White Sulphur Springs, honeymooning in Yellowstone Park. Helen worked at a bank until she became a mom. On Rad's thirtieth birthday on March 28, 1953, their daughter Arleen was born. Larry joined the action on August 2, 1955, and Carolyn completed the family on October 25, 1965.
Helen was the best mom, grandma, and aunt a kid could ever get! She was known as "Aunt Honey" to her nieces and nephews. The kids were her life and they knew they were dearly loved every day of their lives, even when they messed up majorly! Helen was a talented cook, she crocheted many Afghans, and was always ready to challenge an opponent to a game. Parcheesi was her favorite! Helen was a dedicated member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Everyone who knew Helen loved her!
Helen is survived by her daughter Arleen Pratt; son Larry (Debbie) Pratt and granddaughter Brittany Pratt; daughter Carolyn (Neil) Rauch; and sister Ruth Tucek. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Rad Pratt, her sister Florence Termaat, and granddaughter Megan Renee Pratt.
