James S. Umber

James S. (Jim) Umber 82 of Lewistown died Friday evening, November 10^th, 2017 in Valle Vista Manor of natural causes. He was born October 1, 1935 in Lewistown at home across the street from the Presbyterian Church the son of James S. and Edna A. (Vanest) Umber. He attended Lewistown schools and earned his GED later. He worked on construction of power lines in his younger years. He later worked as a custodian as several schools and as an electronic technician until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked as cook at the Villa in Lewistown.

On March 12, 1966 he was united in marriage to Barbara (Bobbi) Rowland in Lewistown and to this union three children were born. James, Robert and Leanna.

Jim is survived by his wife of over 51 years Barbara; sons James (Holly) of Missoula, MT and Robert (Kathy) of Columbia Falls, MT; one daughter Leanna (Gary) Lawrence of Billings, MT; brother Wallace Umber of Santa Barbara, CA; grandchildren Tyler and Payton Lawrence and Kaylee Umber; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents James S. Umber and Edna Kelly, sister Dolores Payton, half-sister Barbara Stingley, half-brothers Marion McCollum and Wilbur Umber.

Memorial Services for James (Jim) Umber will be held Saturday, May 26^th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with committal to follow in the Lewistown City Cemetery. At his request cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
