Jean Andra (Girvin) Claver, 75, passed away peacefully at home in Lewistown, MT on December 28, 2016.
Jean was born in Evansville, Indiana August 26th 1941, the daughter of Thomas and Irene (Leamnson) Girvin. When she was 8 years old her parents and siblings moved to Lewistown, Montana which planted the seed to where she would call home. Growing up she spent her time with her many siblings (8) hunting, fishing, helping out on the small family farm and spent a proud year as the Lewistown Rodeo Queen. On February 28th 1960 she was united in marriage with Jerry R Dirkson. Together they had two beautiful daughters Theresa J Dirkson in 1960, and Laurie J. Anderson in 1962. After a few brief years following Jerry’s work they settled in Monarch, MT. Jerry and Jean divorced in 1971, and Jean began her travelling years with her daughters to places like Alaska, Washington, and later Miles City, Arizona, Stanford, Geyser and back to “home” Lewistown. Jean loved meeting new people and spending time with children which led to some of her many careers throughout her life including; running a daycare, nursing assistant, teachers aid, waitress, cook, receptionist, and many hours donating her ‘good cookin’ to friends and family. She continued to stay active in community activities being a member of Marie Chapter #36 of the Eastern Star and a member of the Women of the Moose.
Jean settled back in the Lewistown area where she met Ron E. Claver and was joyously united in marriage July 15th, 2000 at their beloved Ackley Lake. They spent the next 16 years celebrating life with many hunting, camping, and fishing adventures. She was always out to catch “Waldo” the big fish and was queened the cotton tail killer! She dearly loved her family and would share pictures and stories about her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren to anyone who would lend an ear.
She is survived by her beloved husband Ron of Lewistown; daughters Theresa Dirkson of Lewistown and her son Brandon (Rebecca) and their children Alivyah, Rae-Lynn, Annaleigh, & Laurie (Rob) Anderson of Raynesford, MT and their children Jared (Freedom), Jessica, Gus, Felix, Zeb, Zak, Sara; Stepsons Ron Junior (Pricella) and their children Adam, Sierra; & Scott (Renae) and their children Tyler, Nichole; brothers Thomas (Ruth) Girvin of Lewistown and LaMont Girvin in Kentucky; sister Mary Lou (Jim) Wagner of Lewistown; special sister in-law Lily Girvin of Billings, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, stepmother Jessie, brothers Noel “Bud” & Chuck, sisters Francis, Sarah, & Irene “Renei”; special niece Kristy Girvin and special nephew Mike Girvin.
The fish and cotton tails might not miss you; but we forever will. Our beloved Mother & Grandma Lewistown forever in our hearts, we are so thankful for all your life lessons. We Love You!
