Joan E. Woolett 91 of Lewistown died early Monday morning, April 24, 2017 in the Central Montana Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes. She was born January 17, 1926 in Skykomish, WA the daughter of William E. and Matilda H. (Dolman) Lawson. She received her education in Washington and then owned & operated a café. On February 2, 1962, she was united in marriage to Joe R. Woolett in Coeur d’Alene, ID. They made their home in Wenatchee, WA and she worked in restaurants. In the mid 1960’s they moved to Butte, MT and she worked for a florist. In the early 1970’s they moved to Anchorage, AK and she was a full-time mom. In the late 1970’s they returned to Idaho living in Post Falls and they operated the Woodshed Tavern. In the early 1980’s they moved to Lewistown and owned the Trail’s End Motel until their retirement. Joe preceded her in death in 2006.
Joan enjoyed gardening and time with her family.
She is survived by two sons Ron of Fayetteville, NC and Randy of Lewistown, MT; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter Teresa West in 2008, her parents and a twin sister.
Graveside Services for Joan E. Woolett will be Friday, April 28th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lewistown City Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
