John B. “Jack” Shaver 81 of Lewistown died February 23rd, 2017 in Burien, WA of natural causes following a long illness. He was born March 21, 1935 in Lewistown, MT the son of James M. and Carro (Cook) Shaver. He received his schooling in Lewistown. He then entered the United States Air Force in 1952 serving during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Annie L. Taylor on December 16, 1955 in Sherman, TX.
He received his discharge in 1956 and returned to Lewistown. He attended Northern Montana College, Montana State University, also one year of college in Salt Lake City, UT. After graduation, he worked in the Aerospace Industry in Goodyear, AZ, St. Louis, MO. In 1969, they returned to Lewistown and operated Shaver’s Music. In the mid 1983, they began a partnership in Courtesy Chevrolet until 2000 when they retired.
They traveled extensively for many years. Jack enjoyed his family, especially the many good times at the family cabin fishing, hunting and hiking with all of the family and friends. He also enjoyed his cars and the trips they made in them. He is loved and will be missed every day but good memories are forever.
He is survived by his wife Annie of Lewistown; sons Scot (Saiyan) of Normandy Park, WA, Dale (Esther) of Santa Fe, TX and Ray (Shannon) of Priest River, ID; daughter Janice (Perry) Williams of SeaTac, WA; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers James (Shorty) and Bill and 1 sister Pat Welch.
A Celebration of Life for Jack Shaver will be held Sunday, June 25th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elks Club in Lewistown. Private Family Committal will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
