John Lee Baslee, 69, of Lewistown died peacefully Wednesday evening June 14, 2017 in his favorite chair.
He was born June 7, 1948 in Oakland, California, the son of Victor and Betty Baslee. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was a nurse to the troops on the USS Sanctuary.
He received his education after the war and became a pastor of a Nazarene church.
He had a love for hunting, fishing, and fly-tying.
On March 19, 1977 he married Elaine Bass in Castro Valley, CA. He spent 22 years as an LVN until he had to retire because of being considered 100% disabled.
He is survived by his wife Elaine, his three daughters Debbie, Karen, and Michelle; he is survived by his four grandkids Alexus, Kadon, Peyton, and Olivia. He is also survived by his nephew Josh and two nieces Jodi and Jenna.
He was preceded in death by his sister June in May 2017.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 23, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Nazarene Church, 1102 Casino Creek Road in Lewistown. Interment of the urn will be held at 2:30 p.m. on June 27, 2017 at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel with military honors. The Cloyd Funeral Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements.
