In the early morning hours of February 23, 2022 John Pearl Barthol senior passed peacefully from this earth and entered his fathers heavenly kingdom. John was a loving son brother husband and father.
John was a devout Catholic from birth being born to Leon J Barthol and Stella Milton Barthol on October 29, 1940 in Memphis Tennessee. John grew up in Memphis along with his brother and sisters. He graduated from Catholic high school of Memphis in 1958. He always told the story of riding the public bus to school alongside Elvis Presley. True or not, we choose to believe it.
John married Patricia Goforth in 1961 and to this union were born Ann Marie Barthol and John Pearl Barthol Junior. This marriage eventually dissolved.
John went on to Mary Suzie Roblin in 1975 together they raised Suzie’s daughter Shannon Bandy they became foster parents to Shawn Etheridge and adopted Anthony Barthol. Together John and Suzie built their dream log home in beautiful Moore, Montana. John was an avid outdoorsman and a master welder owning his own business for many years. John was known to say, “the only crack I can’t weld is the crack of dawn”. He had an amazing wit and sense of humor. There was always a story to be told or a joke and a laugh. John loved his family and his faith. There were many of good memories made with his family and friends at their mountain cabin as well as in their home.
John is survived by his daughters Ann Marie Kovalchik and Shannon Bandy; sons John (Diane) Pearl Barthol, Jr., Shawn (Cheryl) Etheridge and Anthony L. Barthol; niece Katie, and grandson Robert. His siblings Kay (Lee) Faison Rosalie (Frank) Bielicki, Donna Foreman and Joe Barthol, Former wife Patricia Cox, and many friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Suzie Roblin Barthol.
Visitation for John will be held on Sunday, February 27th, 2022 in the Cloyd Chapel from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the committal will be held on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 in the Moore Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
