Kimberly C. Bradley

In what came as a big shock to her loving family, Kimberley Kay (Cavan) Bradley, 64, of Garneill, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 15th, 2021 at her beloved home.  Kim was born on November 27^th, 1956 in Billings, MT to Robert and Aletha (Parker) Cavan their second child and younger sister to Robert, Jr. In 1960, the family relocated to Fridley, MN, where she spent her childhood, graduating from Fridley High School in 1975.  While in high school, she participated in cheerleading and was on the dance line. She attended the Hennepin Technical College, earning a certificate in phlebotomy.  In 1986, while visiting her (very insistent) grandmother, Ann, in Judith Gap, Kim was introduced to the love of her life, Russell Bradley. Ann was so insistent on their courtship that she invited herself to chaperone their first date. Her match-making skills must have been successful, as only true love could entice this fiercely independent city-girl to pack her bags and move to the windy, middle-of-nowhere town (if you can call it that…) of Garneill. She and Russ were married in the Fall of 1987, in Couer D'Alene, Idaho. 

They began their married life with Russ testing her skills-and patience- with horses, cows, and pigs; but they eventually settled on farming, tending sheep, and raising their three children. Kim was a quick learner in all things related to farming, including caring for the sheep, haying, and bottle feeding dozens of bum lambs. She was a great cook, and regularly prepared large feasts for "her" Points North harvest crew, Russ's construction crew, sheep shearing crews, and her incredibly hungry kids. She was the rock that organized the bookkeeping for every aspect of the farm and construction business.  As busy as she was, Kim's many jobs on the farm just weren't enough.  She worked at Central Montana Medical Center for over a decade, then transitioned into the role of Clerk/Treasurer for the town of Moore, where she worked until her passing. As the perfectionist she was, she took pride in every detail, and her heart and integrity could be seen in everything she did.  She was a whiz with numbers, which was evident in her perfectly kept check book register-just ask the accountant! Kim was a proud member of the CMMC Hospital Auxiliary, The Order of The Eastern Star, and the John Birch Society.  She was dedicated to her faith as a Christian and to her country as an Americanist. While her presence in the community was notable, it was her presence in her family that will be missed beyond measure.

Kim was always the number one fan (and mom) at every basketball, football, and volleyball game, track meet, band concert, and piano recital her kids participated in. She also served as a Boy Scout Troop Leader for several years.

As her kids left her empty-nested, she took up a passion for gardening.  As Russ stated: they might not have ever eaten anything she grew, but she sure enjoyed doing it.  Her rock garden was always full of beautiful flowers perfectly placed, along with the ever-growing rock collection she obtained on every side-by-side adventure her and Russ took.  As anyone who has seen the collection knows, some were gathered by hand, by excavator, from Montana, and from every state visited.  Her and Russ spent many weekends adventuring with the Treasure State ATV Club as well as the Montana Trail Vehicle Riders Association.  New sites were seen, new friendships made, and family bonds strengthened.  Kim could also be found many nights beating Russ at cribbage and other various board games both at home and in their motorhome "Winnie the Whale".  Her creativity, spunk, and adventurous soul will be enjoyed for years to come.

Kim is survived by her husband, Russell of Garneill; sons Jeff (Jaimie), of Watford City, ND, Paul, of Garneill; daughter Anna (fiancé Ryan M^cCracken) of Colstrip; brother Bob (Deb) Cavan, of Elk River, MN; and three grandchildren Cole, Katie, and Alex of Watford City, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Aletha Cavan.  

A memorial service for Kim Bradley will be held Saturday, February 20^th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel in Lewistown.  Cremation has taken place and a private committal will be at a later date.  A reception will follow at the First Christian Church (103 12th Ave. S.; Lewistown, MT). We look forward to celebrating the life of Kim and further cherishing the countless memories we will have for the rest of our lives. Kim will always be remembered as the best mom and wife anyone could ever ask for.
