Larry E. Krumwiede, 73, of Carter died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home, Friday, May 15th, 2020. He was born on January 2, 1947 in Great Falls, Montana, the son of Edward and Mary (Fisher) Krumwiede. He received his schooling in Carter through 8th grade and then at Fort Benton High School, graduating in 1965. He then attended and graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula with a bachelor's degree.
After college, he worked in the Wood Products industry in Oregon in Human Resources. In the early 1980's he moved to the hotel industry, again in Human Resources, moving to Alabama. It was there that he met Lynda Kay Griffin (Kay) and they were united in marriage on July 23, 1987 in Mobile, Alabama. They worked together in property management for Holiday Inn, which was a multi-state operation in the southwest. They moved to Bend, Oregon and Larry helped start an insurance agency. He then worked for the State of Oregon as a private consultant and wrote a personnel manual for state employees. He later returned to the Wood Products industry until his retirement in 2005 at which time they moved to the family farm in Carter, Montana.
Larry was a compassionate, thoughtful husband. He loved his girls and their families and was a loyal, true friend to all in his circle of friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and camping. He loved the farm and appreciated that in his retirement he could live there and share it with his wife, children, step-children and grandchildren.
He was a member and Board Member of the Carter United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Kay of Carter; daughters Rebecca (Rick) Van Wagner of Clermont, FL and Jennifer Kennedy (Jerry Gosch) of Hillsboro, OR; brother William "Bill" (Ruby) Lohse of Carter, MT; step-children Barron (Scarlett) Brock of Dahlonega, GA, Joel Brock of Bourbonnais, IL and Randi Borrego of Spanish Fork, AL; grandchildren Abbey (Nathan) Van Wagner-Harmon of Birmingham, AL, Gabrielle Van Wagner and Ricky Van Wagner both of Clermont, FL; ex-wife and mother of his children Barbara Booth-Krumwiede of Bend, OR and several nieces and nephews.
