Levi Hunter McCarty, 38, of Hobson, died Saturday afternoon, January 2, 2021 as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Levi was born August 13, 1982 in Marlinton, West Virginia the oldest child of Jeff and Peggy. He graduated from Fergus High School in 2000. He then went to the Art Institute of Seattle where he received a certificate in Graphic Design. He worked as a logger and heavy equipment operator, a plaster and stucco finisher, a production assembler, and most-recently a fence-building cowboy.
Levi was a voracious reader. He also enjoyed music, reading, cooking, reading, spending time in the outdoors, and reading. Whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, working, or reading; he was at home in the outdoors.
He is survived by his mother Peggy (Todd) Spear of Buffalo, MT; brothers Colter (Abigail) of Three Forks, MT and Dylan of Hobson, MT; sisters Molly (Brian) Hyk of Brighton, CO and Brette (Michael) Pawlowski of Circle, MT; grandmother Jean Jimmerson of Lewistown, MT; 3 nephews, 1 niece and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Levi was a beloved son, brother, and friend, and the best uncle, period.
He was preceded in death by his father Jeff, his maternal grandfather, and his paternal grandparents.
Graveside services for Levi will be held Saturday, January 9 th , 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Philbrook Cemetery west of Hobson. A reception will follow at Tall Boys Tavern in Hobson at 12:00. Cremation has taken place with the Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.
Friends are asked to make memorials to the Hobson Swimming Pool, Hobson Library or the charity of their choice and they may be left with the Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
