Marian Lafranboise

August 23, 1916 — November 23, 2017

 

     Marian LaFranboise of Lewistown passed away November 23, 2017. She was born August 23, 1916 on the family homestead near Tyler, Montana. She was one of ten children born to Nels and Tressa Johnson.

     Like most Children of the depression, Marian learned to work early on and developed the strong work ethic typical of tha era.  On June 28, 1935 she married Bob LaFranboise of the Tyler community.  They spent their early years at the N Bar Ranch where they were both employed.  Bob enlisted in the Army and served in Europe during WWII.  After the war they went to work for John McVay until his ranch sold in 1967.  From there they moved to Lewistown where they worked various jobs, before eventually retiring from the Central Montana Center for the Aged.  After Bob's passing in 1995 Marian stayed inthe family home on Shields St before moving to an apartment on Main.  She moved to Billings in 2013 to be near family.

     Bob and Marian had a Son Richard and a Daughter Bonnie, who now live in Billings.  Marian was a member of the Montana Cowbells and the Eastern Star.  Her greatest posession was her faith Jesus Christ.  She never got over the loss of her "Pa" and loved him for 82 years, they are now together.

     Survivors include;  Her two children, son Richard (Kim) LaFranboise, daughter Bonnie LaFranboise. Four Grandchildren Tanna (Mike) Hudson, Amber (Justin) Caster, Tressa LaFromboise and JB (Carrie) Walling, 11 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

     She was preceeded in death by her Husband Robert and Sisters Mamie (Charlie Finch), Murle (Walt Wilhelm), Ruth (Darrel Abbott) and Eva (Bob Fleharty) and brothers Frank (Mary), Johnny (Mary), Frosty (Geneva), Butch (Katherine) and a Brother Glen who died as a child.  Also preceeding was a Son-in-law Jess Walling.

     We wish to extend a heart felt thank you to family and friends for your thoughts, Prayers and many visits.  A special thank you to the Whispering Pines Personal Care home and their excellent staff.
