Mary Crumrine

February 23, 1945 — January 3, 2022

Mary (Fordyce) Crumrine Mary Crumrine passed away peacefully Jan. 3rd in Redding Ca. with her family attending.

She was born Feb. 23, 1945 in Chelmsford, Essex, England to her parents Ray and Phyllis Fordyce. When she was 7 months old, she and her mother traveled by ship to Ellis Island and then by train to Harlowton, where her father was eagerly awaiting them. They lived on the farm by Winifred and she attended Salt Creek School before moving to Lewistown. There she attended and graduated from St. Leo’s in 1964. Mary then went to San Fransisco to further her education and worked as a nanny both there and on the east coast.

She later returned to Lewistown and married Robert Keller. They had two children, Paula and Michael. She worked at United Grain and Mintyala Disposal Service. She met and married Chris Crumrine and they lived in Idaho. Mary was always willing to try anything with her granddaughters, whether it was floating down a stream at a water park and getting stuck in the inner tube, or going through the fun house at the fair and getting tumbled around in the rolling barrel as she exited, while the rest of us watched. She was always willing to laugh at herself. She enjoyed the art of needle work, making Christmas stockings for all of the new additions to the family. Sitting around with the family, Mary would tell current stories on herself that would make us laugh till we cried. Mary’s lifetime dream was met when she was able to return to England and enjoy the many sites and scenes. She enjoyed meeting the many cousins there.

She is survived by her daughter Paula (Keller) Karmann, granddaughters Brianna (Jeromie) Gridley and Ryeley (Austin) Headrick ; brother John (Betty) Fordyce of Culbertson, sister Ann Fulkerson of Idaho Falls, brother-in-law Jim Viertel of Lewistown, sister Yvonne Campbell of Blaine, WA. and brother Patrick (Neta) Fordyce of Winifred.

She also has many cousins and nieces and nephews in the northwest United States and England. She is preceded in death by her young son Michael, husband Chris Crumrine, parents Ray and Phyllis Fordyce and sister Rita Viertel.

Memorial services will be on June 11, 2022, 11am at Cloyd Funeral Home in Lewistown. Interment will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
