Mildred L. Olson

Mildred Letitia Olson, 102, of Lewistown, died Monday, November 1^st, 2021 in the Central Montana Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes. Mildred was born August 15^th, 1919 to Royal and Daisy (Starkweather) Miller in Melstone, Montana. Mildred spent her early years with her 3 brothers, Cecil, Floyd and Christopher living around Melstone, Sheldon, Carpenter Creek, Kelly and Winnett. She moved to Lewistown in 1940 and was working at the Farmer's Café, where she met Gust Olson. They were married on May 21^st, 1942 in Stanford. They lived in Lewistown the rest of their years.

Mildred worked at Kelly's music in downtown Lewistown and then spent several years working for Dr. Dean Koffler in his dental practice. She later worked as a secretary at the Lewistown United Methodist Church, a position she held for nearly 30 years. She then volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, RSVP and COA.

Mildred loved crocheting and donated many lap blankets to the local nursing homes. Her and Gust loved traveling and made many trips in their campers and later with travel groups.

Mildred was a member of the Women of the Moose for 47 years earning Academy of Friendship and Star Recorder.

Mildred was preceded by her husband of 60 years, Gust in 2002, her daughter Alice Joyce and granddaughter Jaimi Lyn.

Mildred is survived by her two sons, Robert (Vicki) of Lewistown, MT and Richard (Lynette) of Salem, OR; grandchildren Brian and Kevin both of Lewistown, MT and Janet of Powell, WY; 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 special nieces Mary Alice and Kathy.

Services for Mildred will be held on Saturday, November 6^th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cloyd Chapel with committal to follow in the Lewistown City Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
