Patti Jo Fanning

Patti Jo Fanning, 80, of Lewistown passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the Central Montana Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 1, 1943 in Lewistown, MT to her parents Willis and Mary Dailey. 

 After graduating from Fergus High School in 1961, Patti had the opportunity of a lifetime to go work for her Uncle James in Kenya, Africa for 2 years. Her return to the United States included weeks of travel through Europe and finished with a ride on the Queen Mary from London to New York. 

 Upon her return to Lewistown, Patti worked in the Fergus County Treasurer’s Office before moving to California after marrying Dale Fanning, where the two would have their only child, Stephen, in 1968. After Dale was deployed to Vietnam, upon his return the family moved to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where Dale worked as base security until his retirement. 

 Patti and Stephen moved back to Lewistown in 1973, where Patti focused on giving her son the best life she could provide. She worked numerous jobs in office management and administration before finishing her working career as a dispatcher for the Fergus County Sheriff's Department. 

 Patti is survived by her son Stephen Fanning of Lewistown, Montana and his daughter Makayla of Thornton, Colorado. Patti loved her only grandchild so much every day since her birth in 2003. She is also survived by her brother Terry Dailey of Casper, Wyoming along with his wife Debbie and their two children Jory and Terra along with 4 grandchildren and Patti's very special Niece Jen Baumann and her husband Bob of Paupack, Pennsylvania. 

 Patti was preceded in death by her parents Willis and Mary Dailey and her sister Sandra Penrose.
