Robert L. Durbin

Robert L. Durbin 93 of Lewistown died Sunday morning, January 19, 2020 in Valle Vista Manor of natural causes. He was born December 17, 1926 in Conception Junction, MO the son of Julius E. and Odelia F. (Walters) Durbin. He received his education in Missouri and then on July 2, 1945 he entered the United States Army. He received his Honorable Discharge on January 3, 1947 in Fort Sheridan, IL. Following his discharge, he moved to Montana and worked for Clarence Comes at Denton. He later went to the United States Gypsum Plant at Heath, then worked on the Hickey Ranch near Moore for 4 years. On July 31, 1954 he was united in marriage to Dorothy C. Darrah in Lewistown. They made their home in Lewistown and he worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Plant. He worked for Dan Morrison and Sons Implement for 17 years. He worked at Fabian Machine and Welding for 4 years, Wickens Construction for 7 years and then to Fergus Electric Cooperative for 10 years until he retired in 1992.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Fergus Post #16 American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Lewistown; sons Dan (Maria) of Lewistown, Tim (Cindy) of Moore, MT and Ron (Heidi) of Kalispell, MT; one daughter Paula (Ray) Barta of Billings, MT; brothers Francis of Savannah, MO and Cecil of Great Falls, MT; sisters Betty Bright of Kansas City, MO and Odelia Wells of Newton, IA; ten grandchildren Ryan (Cammi) Durbin, Stacey Durbin, Casey (Christine) Durbin, Kristin Barta, Joe (Samantha) Barta, Paden Durbin, Sierra Durbin, Amber Durbin, Tyler Durbin and Haley Durbin; six great grandchildren Patrick, Keegan, Samuel and Lucas Durbin, Peighton and Jay Barta and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eugene, Orville Gerald and Maurice; sisters Thelma Ruyan and Mary Rose Delaney.

Funeral Mass for Robert L. Durbin will be Friday, January 24th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church with committal to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
