Soren "Pete" Jensen

Soren (Dad to us) died from complications from an infection in his artificial knee and went to be with his Lord and Savior. We rejoice with him as he now lives in his new home in Heaven.



He was born on the Jensen family ranch in Circle, Montana, to Soren and Isabell Jensen on November 22, 1926. He was quite the individual, the youngest of five kids—three brothers and one sister. Brothers Harry and Barney preceded him in death. Earl Jensen and Marie Trodick survive him along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67.5 years, Norma Wilson Jensen, in 2013. Together they had four children: Wendy, Marli, Dale, and Kenny. Marli preceded him in death in 2015 and his son-in-law Greg in 2011. He is survived by daughter Wendy Wood and children Shauna; Brendan (Laura); Kelli (Tyler) and daughter Holland; and Brian (Angela); son-in-law Giovanni Calabrese (Marli) and children Reno (Danielle) and their daughters Stella and Gemma; Dario (Danielle) and their children Sofia, Luca, and Jonah; Annamaria (Brad) and their children Brayden and Catalina; son Dale (Laura) their children Zac (Allie); Caitlin (Brian) and Liam; and Jessica (Bede) and Amabel and Jensen; son Kenny (Jamie) and children Ben and Bailey.

He ventured out on his own in his early teens to begin his life’s journey. He worked at various jobs including school janitor, power line foreman, and house mover; and attempted his hand at various things including the Tastee Freeze and the Sugar and Spice Bakery. He was a hard worker and a risk taker, never afraid to try and do new things—whatever would support his family. He served his country in the Army in WWII. Dad and Mom spent their lives building Cottonwood Ranch, a beautiful place, where they lived to the end of their lives. They loved to travel and spend time with their children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. They loved people and had friends in many locations throughout the world including Silver Lakes in Southern California where they spent their winters for many years. They seemed to know everyone—and their children and grandchildren. Someone once asked our Mom about friendships as their friends passed on. She said, “We make younger friends.”

Dad was so loved by family and friends. He will be remembered for his wit, charm, and wisdom. He loved to sing; he woke up every day singing a song, and many of you know that if you said something that triggered a song, he would immediately sing either that song or something he made up along the way.



The night he died was a beautifully moonlit and unseasonably warm night, and we, his family, were at his bedside until his last breath sending him away in the Scandinavian tradition with wide open windows providing an easy path to Heaven.
