Stephen A. Miner

Stephen Arthur Miner,72, of Lewistown passed away amongst the love of his family on the evening of April 30, 2019.  Steve was born July 9, 1946 in Lewistown, the son of Madison K. and Mary D. (Pfenning) Miner. Steve was the oldest of 11, father of four, beloved grandfather, and ornery and dear friend to so many, but will be forever be remembered for love he had for "Skinny," his angel of a wife; Darlene Zaharko they were united in marriage on October 19, 1968 in Lewistown.

Steve graduated in Lewistown from Fergus High School in 1967. Living in his hometown his entire life, Steve enjoyed working for both the County and City. Doing these jobs, he was able to plow elemetary schools before they opened, hanging a street light in the alley for the neighborhood girls who were afraid of the dark, and countless other things that mattered most to Steve.

He retired from the City after 25 years, on April Fool's Day (in classic Steve fashion).

Steve enjoyed hunting, reloading, snowmobiling, camping, playing pool, pinochle and was a talented artist and craftsman. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #374 for 50 years, was a member of the local Moose Lodge #1239 and served as the governor for several years.

He is survived by his wife Darlene of Lewistown; daughter Mary (John) Peters of Lavina; three sons Matt (Shelly) of Judith Gap, MT, Shawn (Heidi) and Duane (Staci) both of Billings, MT; four brothers, David (Linda) of Franktown, CO, Gary (Becky) of Olympia, WA, Rick Hodge of Selah, WA and Mark (Kim) Hodge of Spokane, WA; six sisters, Marilyn Miner of Lewistown, Barbara (Gary) Alexander of Junction City, KS, Gail (Rick) Pierzina of Bozeman, MT, Sharon Andersen of Dillon, MT, Sherri (Rick) Feller of Ephrata, WA and Donna (Terry) Econom of Winifred, MT; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Pfenning) Miner, mom Patricia (Finn) Miner, father Madison K. Miner and niece Kalin Econom.

Graveside services for Steve Miner will be in the Lewistown City Cemetery on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 4:00  p.m. with "Beer, Buddies and BS" at the Eagles following the graveside service.  The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
