Teresa L. Dygert-Trask

July 26, 1960 — October 16, 2020

Teresa Lynne Dygert-Trask, 60, of Lewistown passed away Friday morning October 16, 2020 at her home of natural causes. She was born July 26th, 1960 in Arcata, California to Claire and Ethel (Barker) Dygert. She graduated high school from Eureka, CA in 1978. Immediately following graduation, she traveled California sightseeing and working in varied restaurants throughout Central and Northern California. Through these experiences she attained the gift of gourmet cooking. She had the knack of making something out of anything and it was always delicious. Cooking wasn't her only exceptional talent. She also made many beautiful glass etching pieces. Of which she shared with many.

In the late eighties she and her daughter Hannah moved to Lewistown. Shortly after the move she met the love of her life Dirk Trask. From this union along came Dexter "Dick".  She worked varied jobs throughout the Central Montana area. She put her heart into everything she did from wrapping meat at her Brother Dennis' meat shop to watching over the school children on the Garfield playground.

She loved family and never missed a birthday phone call with her famous Happy Birthday song! And you can't forget her Chokecherry cheese cake! Her children and grandchildren were her everything.

She is survived by her husband Dirk, son Dexter (Brooke) Trask all of Lewistown, daughter Hannah Birch of Clovis, CA and step-daughter Brandy (Joel) Barber of Denton, MT; siblings, Dennis (Jane) Dygert of Christina, MT and Kathy (Dave) Ball of McKinleyville, CA; fivegrandchildren Gracie Birch, Chelsea Frehse, Laurel Kilgore, Salena Kilgore, and Mercedez Barber; several cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents.

As her son Dexter recently wrote, "You had a full heart and a talent for taking care of other people in need before yourself. You were very kind and little, but had the fight of a sow grizzly with cubs." And as her daughter Hannah recently wrote, "You were a person no one will ever forget. You gave me a heart of gold and strong personality."  Anyone who knew Teresa would agree that she had a big heart and left a piece of it with all those she touched. You can rest now. You are in a better place. We will all miss you and love you till the end of time.
