William J. Rodgers 80 of Lewistown died Saturday evening, March 18th, 2017 in the Central Montana Medical Center with his family by his side of natural causes. He was born January 16, 1937 in Wimber, PA the son of William K. and Ottile (Rhode) Rodgers. He received his schooling in Pennsylvania and was united in marriage there in 1956. After his divorce, he began to travel the united states he worked in the logging business but most of his life he worked in sales. He lived in West Yellowstone before moving to Lewistown in the early 1970’s. On December 27, 1975, he was united in marriage to Margaret Petersen in Lewistown. He worked for Cooley Chevrolet, Berg Ford, Hilltop Motors and operated his own auto sales business. Bill and Margaret made their home in Lewistown where they had many friends.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, he was a good pool player and loved to tell stories and always had a joke for his friends. He was proud that he was the oldest of 22 children and he was considered a second dad to many.
He is survived by his wife Margaret of Lewistown; sons William in Ohio, Robert in New Jersey and Matthew in Kalispell; daughter Page of Lewistown; 12 grandchildren and one expected, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, two brothers, one sister and his parents.
Celebration of Life for Bill Rodgers will be held later, cremation has taken place. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Friends are asked to make memorials to the Rimrock Cancer Center in Billings or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
